The Kona Kai Marina’s Executive Dockmaster brings years of marina management experience from each of the Nation’s coasts. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, he developed a passion for the water world aboard a number of power and sailboats. Pursuing a career in the marine industry, Pete began managing the Bakker Marine Dealership in Hawley, Pa. Four years later Pete relocated to Miami Beach, Fl for the Assistant Dockmaster position at Sunset Harbor marina. Finding his calling, he moved up and west to Marina Del Rey, Ca where he managed Marina Harbor Anchorage for several seasons. In 2004 Pete journeyed to America’s finest city to run the newly acquired Kona Kai marina, where he maintained the highest quality of service while the marina underwent 18 months of dockside reconstruction. Today, Pete continues to manage the daily operations here at the Kona Kai with the kind of leadership that’s hard to find in any industry.

Charlene Callahan

Charlene “Charlie” Callahan

Charlie came to the Kona Kai in October of 2004. With little in the way of marina experience, she quickly proved an asset to the marina during its reconstruction period, becoming Pete’s steady sidekick. Her years of work with special needs children has cultivated in her an easy going, compassionate yet detail oriented personality which has served her well at the Kona Kai. Her hard work paid off over the last year when she was declared the marina’s very own Vessel Agent, specializing in concierge services and accommodations for Yachts 100 feet and over for the duration of their stay.

Jose has been a member of the Kona Kai squad for nearly ten years. As head of the Marina’s maintenance operation, he can be seen with his crew of 5 keeping the 520 slip facility looking its very best!
