At Kona Kai Marina, a slip includes the amenities of the adjoining Kona Kai San Diego Resort. That covers the pool and jacuzzi, the private beach with gas fire pits and cabanas, and a fitness club with locker rooms, showers, and steam rooms. The SpaTerre spa is not an included amenity, but marina tenants get 10% off SpaTerre treatments. Tenants also get 10% off dining at Vessel Restaurant + Bar and the poolside Tiki Bar, and preferred pricing on guest rooms and catering. A business center, laundry, and on-site store cover the day-to-day. It is the deep-water Shelter Island marina with a full resort attached.
Yes. The Kona Kai San Diego Resort describes its beach as the only privately owned beach in San Diego, and marina guests use it. There is white sand, gas fire pits and private cabanas, with the marina on one side and the Point Loma hillside behind it. Bonfires run nightly and s’more kits are sold on site. Beach cabanas are reserved on 619-819-8192. It is a few minutes’ walk from any slip, which is usually what a boat owner with family aboard for a weekend is trying to solve.
Yes. Marina guests use the resort’s Fitness Club, which has current equipment and a locker room with showers and steam rooms, and a business center for the days when work follows you aboard. SpaTerre, the resort’s full-service spa, gives marina tenants 10 percent off treatments. Use of the pool is complimentary for marina guests, and the jacuzzi, the beach, the fire pits and the two poolside bars are all steps from the docks. Transient guests get the same access to the main pool, beach, gym and steam rooms during their stay.
